If you’re looking to blow off some steam, a first-person shooter is always a good place to start. With that in mind, here are two of the most enjoyable FPS games available on Xbox 360/One and PS3/PS4
Many happy summer days were spent chasing other kids around the park, firing guns made of sticks and throwing pine cone grenades in intense games of cops-and-robbers.
Fast forward to 2015 and the sticks and pine cones are gone, replaced with absolutely stunning hi-res graphics on Xbox One and PS4.
All the staples of Battlefield are here, dynamic destruction, fast-paced objective-focused tactical gameplay and a range of vehicles to smash, crash and chase each other in. With a variety of modes and some beautifully crafted levels to destroy, there’s no better way to let off some tension.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
If you like your games with equal parts action, storyline and belly laughs, the Borderlands series has you covered. The most recent game takes place between Borderlands and Borderlands 2.
The games feature beautiful cel-shaded (cartoon style) graphics, RPG elements and some immensely satisfying guns and grenades to help you blaze a path across Pandora in search of another legendary vault.
The characters are brilliantly realised, and the voice acting is top-notch – punchlines are delivered with perfect cadence and timing.
Plus, being an FPS plenty of things go boom, people explode in fountains of gore etc. etc. Plus for extra enjoyment you can grab three friends and rampage around together.
